It's a great pumpkin Charlie Brown!

What fun! A pumpkin patch, a baby that is dressed for the holiday, sunshine and plenty of pumpkins/cornstalks and the like. She is the most adorable little pumpkin and the pictures will show you; yep, prejudiced and proud of it. No one else in the pumpkin area, so nana and "grammy" take over the background paraphenalia. What difference does it make if we move a few of the pumpkins, don't think many people are buying today. Take a look!

Now little Miss Mackenzies friend gets dressed too, they need a picture together don't you think? They are dressed alike you know. Take a look!

They are the best objects to photograph, they pose very well.

1st of many trips....

The weather is supposed to be relatively warm today so a trip to the Pumpkin Patch is scheduled for little baby Mac. Anxious to see what kind of pics we get because I really like this holiday. Yes, it is a holiday to me. Will post pictures later - enjoy your day of scaring, eating goodies and having fun!

Hair, hair....

Remember the song from the 70's (I think anyway) - ....long beautiful hair! Baby Mac has the head of hair to beat all. It is so funny. I think she has her mom and dad's cowlicks; no, I know she does. One in front and two in back. She also has baby fine, curly, fuzzy, and stand up straight hair. Poor little thing she will always have to do her hair daily or wear a baseball hat; don't get me wrong, hat is good! I know she will hate the way it is, most of us do no matter what we have, so unless things change, a hat it will be! But it is so cute. It is lightening up a bit from when she was born (3 wks. ago) but it is still the wild, wild hair show. One of my wishes will be that she will not have to live through, "your look is how you're defined" part of that song.
She came for dinner last night - 2 Sundays in a row. I just love when she is here - although I just want to hold her and stare, Poppy and I play head games over who gets to hold her. Sometimes I wonder why her parents stay - we feed them but other than that we pretty much ignore them. Sorry, we love you two also but we are infatuated with Mac. Everyone said this is the way it would be but I guess you just can't imagine until it happens. We are smitten.

Felt more like mom today than ever!

I felt more like my mom today than ever in that I received an honored pleasure to babysit, for the first time, my granddaughter, Mackenzie. I was very excited although I didn't want to tell that to Mackenzie's mom and dad for fear they would laugh at me, I'm sure they did anyway cause I don't think I hid it very well. The girls knew too so they probably were laughing as well, although jealous too. Ray is traveling for work therefore I don't sleep too well. I was up watching tv, downstairs not in the bedroom, at 4am. I DVR just about everything it seems. Went back up to bed after watching one show and was able to go back to sleep. But was up again at 6:55am - alarm set for 7am. I had to get ready to go - I had to babysit at 8:30am. An hour and a half to get ready and drive to their house - really???? They only live 4-5 miles away. Ok so I can go get Starbucks - yes since Ray is gone I can go get coffee and a pumpkin muffin - mmmm! That will take extra time. Hmmm still early, so now I also have time to fill the gas tank too. Upon leaving the house I have my bag in tow with my books and stuff to do while watching Mackenzie. Yes, this is the real part that is my mom. She used to watch my kids and always came to the house with her "bag" of goodies. However, in her bag she had sugar packets, crackers that were crumbs, jelly packets, and her circle puzzle book; she always thought she might need that little something that I didn't have in my house. I couldn't help but think she would love to be doing this for her great granddaughter. She would be so proud of me for taking that bag, and I'm sure she is laughing at me too!
