Some chores were accomplished this weekend at the house, texturing the ceiling (still no paint), bball hoop sanded and painted, screens dropped off for repair, sprinkler head was working when looking into fixing this.  Also, did the front yard finishing work, edging, sweeping, weed pulling and trimming - looked good when we left.  Kids went to the rib off while we worked, took M and she looked so cute.  R also pulled weeds/flowers in the back bed to clean it up a bit  Met W's parents today, they seemed very nice and we look forward to talking/visiting again.

Again...

...we will try some new recipes. We did well with our menu last week and it was so good. We are trying! Down 3.0 lbs. this week, for a total of 12.2 lbs. - so still working for me. Ray did not lose. We worked out a few times this past week and want to continue - we have the use of a gym at the apartment so might as well use it right? We went to the beach yesterday - got an early start, 8:45am and left a noon. Did a little shopping for wedding clothes and interview clothes and stopped for yogurt too.

We did some ichatting and skyping this last week and that helps me to manage this move. One night it was Kelsey (she got a new mac-yeah!), Kalena, Jordan and us. It was late but so much fun! Then we chatted with Mac on Saturday and skyped with Becky, Ray and Kelsey last night. So fun!

Menu so far -
Monday - Turkey Burgers with Orzo Salad with Watermelon and Feta
Tuesday - Teriyaki Burgers with Chili Ketchup - need a side, might be fruit
Wednesday - Must go night - Leftovers, I leave for home on Thursday at 6am
Thursday - Hopefully something at home but I won't have a car or food in the house, could be interesting
Friday - Rehearsal Dinner, helping to serve
Saturday - WEDDING for pseudo family memeber, can't wait
Sunday - Dinner with friends at home
Monday - on the road again!

Hope everyone has a great and safe week!

Starting again...

...in many ways! We have moved to Florida and we (not sure R wants to but...) are doing ww. We had a wonderful salad last night and I look forward to leftovers for lunch. Might be a little wilted but eh, still will have the same flavor. Added shrimp as a side; more salad than shrimp so this is the side. Going to try to find recipes for R to make to keep it interesting. So far....

Monday - Turkey reubens, fruit (plentiful in FL)
Tuesday - Spicy Chicken Fajitas
Wednesday - Hoisin Pork and Boston Lettuce Wraps
Thursday - Beer-Lime Marinated Flank Steak; Grilled corn, Red Peppers and Onions
Friday - Out to Bonefish Grill
Saturday - Watermelon and Red Onion Salad with Feta - need to look for the recipe K found and maybe this one will change.

Missing all the kids at home, the babies, and family/friends. Have to give it time I know, its only been 2 weeks. Hoping to find a job soon. We will be going home next week for a "family" wedding and that I am anxious to do. We went to a movie yesterday, the beach on Sunday, a little shopping on Saturday. Went for a walk around the apartment complex late last evening and hope to do a workout tonight.

Happy Memorial Day...

All I can think about is my dad today. He served, don't know or don't remember a whole lot about his time...and wish I did. Oh the things you don't care about when you are younger but want to know as an adult. I do know he was in Alaska as an air traffic controller but that is about it. Sad. Thanks Dad.

I also know that 2 cousins served in Vietnam. I remember watching on tv as a kid the pictures from Vietnam and wondering how they were doing. One seemed to be in towns all the time, and pics were sent - I remember a picture with a rickshaw in it with children too. We sent care packages quite a few times. A large jawbreaker from Farrell's Ice Cream was sent once. The other cousin saw a lot of battle time and didn't come back the same person. He was troubled through the rest of his life. Sad. He is gone and today I remember him. Thanks Steve.

A nephew served in the marines but I don't think he saw battle time either.

Thanks to all those that have served to protect the United States!

A lot...

A lot has happened since I last wrote here...but the best is a new baby boy! I can't believe he is here and another of my kids is a parent. If you are watching your own little ones have their own little ones it is just amazing. Wow, it has been a whirlwind of a few months. It started off rough for K but she is having fun and I love watching both of them with Benton. He seems to be a smiler! Hmmm, can't imagine where he got that!

Also started a new job! Hmmm, not sure I could handle much more at the time but so fun. It is a job right now and so much training but it is a big job too. We have finished the holidays and started right in with birthdays. My babies are getting older and all are so grown up.

We have been visiting in CBus a lot. Spent New Year's there too. We always have fun with R & B. So glad the kids could be there too - yes we missed J & K and little Miss Mac. She was ill that weekend and it really did her in; it is taking a bit of time to bounce back. We had her last night for our weekly "visitation"; I tease but I miss her so so much. She was so tired and just wanted to go to bed I think at 7. And we are just a bit selfish - we wanted her to stay up and play!

Hopefully, I can keep up a little better in the future. No promises!
